The U23 Vietnam national team will officially assemble on March 17 in Hanoi, initiating their preparation plan for the CFA Team China – Xi'an 2026 International Football Tournament. This is a crucial step in the long-term strategy for building a successor generation for the national team and towards the goals for the 2026 Asian Games.
The CFA Team China – Xi'an 2026 tournament will take place from March 25 to March 31, 2026, in Xi'an city (China), featuring four U23 teams: host China, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.The teams will compete in a single round-robin format to determine the final rankings. This tournament is highly regarded for its competitive quality, regularly attracting top youth teams from the region.
According to the schedule announced by the organizers, U23 Vietnam will begin their campaign against U23 DPR Korea at 14:00 on March 25 (Vietnam time). Three days later, the team will face U23 Thailand at 14:00 on March 28, before concluding the tournament against host U23 China at 18:35 on March 31.
In recent years, Vietnamese youth national teams have frequently been invited to participate in the CFA Team China tournament, thereby gaining valuable international match experience. Their continued participation this year demonstrates the trust of the Chinese Football Association and reflects the increasingly stable standing of Vietnamese youth football within the region.
