Taiwan's head coach determined to face Vietnam for Asian Cup quarterfinal spot

Coach Prasobchoke Chokemo expresses strong resolve ahead of the clash with the Vietnam women's national team in the 2026 Asian Cup Championship.

In their opening match, the Chinese Taipei team, despite putting in great effort, could not create an upset against the strong opponent Japan. In the end, they suffered a 0-2 defeat and temporarily fell to the bottom position in the group standings.

Nevertheless, speaking at the post-match press conference, Coach Prasobchoke Chokemo still had many words of praise for his players.

“I want to thank the players for their efforts and hard work on the pitch. Against a team like this, you cannot lose focus because even a small mistake can cause you to lose the match,” said Prasobchoke.

“We prepared for the match conditions and focused on fitness. The players showed excellent fighting spirit, both mentally and physically, and gave their all,"the strategist added.

For his part, the head coach of the Japan women's national team also admitted that his team faced many difficulties in securing the victory: “This was a completely one-sided match. Taiwan was a tough opponent, just as we predicted, but I think we maintained our focus and created opportunities.”

In the next match, Chinese Taipei will face the Vietnam women's national team in a crucial encounter that will decide the quarterfinal ticket. Speaking about the upcoming match, the Taiwan coach stated:

"We will learn from our mistakes and fight in the upcoming matches to try and advance to the knockout stage.”

The match between the Taiwan women's team and the Vietnam women's team will take place at 12:00 on March 7.
