Ousmane Dembele has resumed training after his injury, giving PSG a significant lift before facing Monaco. Manager Luis Enrique expects the French star to return to top condition soon.
Ousmane Dembele has returned to training with the first team of Paris Saint-Germainafter nearly two weeks out due to a calf injury, bringing positive news for Coach Luis Enrique ahead of the important Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco.
The French star suffered the injury on February 17 during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff against Monaco at Stade Louis-II. Dembele was forced off in the 27th minute, but PSG still won 3-2 and later advanced with a 5-4 aggregate score.
During Dembele's absence, the capital club maintained stable form. PSG successively defeated FC Metz 3-0 and overcame Le Havre AC 1-0 in Ligue 1, before drawing 2-2 with Monaco in the Champions League return leg. However, the absence of their most creative attacker somewhat reduced PSG's offensive unpredictability.
According to French media, the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner has completed his personal recovery process and has now fully participated in team training sessions. The PSG coaching staff is being very cautious in reintegrating Dembele to avoid the risk of re-injury as the season enters its decisive phase.
Dembele's return comes just as PSG prepares to host Monaco at the Parc des Princes. Manager Luis Enrique's team currently leads Ligue 1 and is four points ahead of second-place RC Lens, while Monaco ranks only seventh in the standings.
If he encounters no problems in the final training sessions, Dembele is expected to be named in the match squad. The French star has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season and is considered a key element in PSG's attacking play.
Not only Dembele, but PSG also received more good news as midfielder Joao Neves and young talent Senny Mayulu have returned to training after injuries. This duo is anticipated to be included in the squad for the Monaco match.
