Before this season's trade deadline, Kyle Anderson was traded from the Utah Jazz to the Memphis Grizzlies. After appearing in four games for the Grizzlies, he agreed to a buyout with the team. Following the waiver clearance period, he returned his skills to the Timberwolves. Anderson had previously worn the Timberwolves jersey during the 22-23 and 23-24 seasons.

He possesses one-eighth Chinese heritage (his maternal great-grandfather was a Hakka from Guangdong). During the 2023 World Cup, he averaged comprehensive stats of 13 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
